Alternative Light Source

8th June 2015 sees the long awaited return of one of the most established electronic acts in modern times.
Alternative Light Source marks the third album under Leftfield’s belt, following up the Mercury Prize nominated Leftism (1995)
and Rhythm and Stealth (1999) and- dare we say- surpassing the lofty bar set by both.
Presented in a 4 panel digipak, with booklet and album artwork featuring Mark Wallinger’s iconic ‘School - Classroom’ piece
(by kind permission of Collection CAM-Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation) . Package designed by Simon Ryan.
tracklisting
1) - Bad Radio
2) - Universal Everything https://soundcloud.com/leftfield/universal-everything
3) - Bilocation
4) - Head And Shoulders
5) - Dark Matters
6) - Little Fish
7) - Storm's End
8 ) - Alternative Light Source
9) - Shaker Obsesssion
10) - Levitate For You

And new albums from Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Square pusher, Oasis etc. Seems like a 90s resurgence. Nicolette has sometthing planned too.

Off to see Leftfield on Saturday. Jo (jeni) got tickets for them last week after hearing the album stream. Super excited for this, it's gonna be heavy!

I haven't listened to the whole album except the well loved track with Sleaford Mods. I am looking forward to listening.

Was a brilliant gig, actually. This thirtysomething thought he was a teenager again! Lots of Rhythm & Stealth and the new album, with only Inspection being aired from Leftism. Some punters apparently unhappy about that, but I'm starting to see Leftism as a tad overrated.

Oddly enough, that Sleaford Mods track is the only one I don't really like on otherwise triumphant comeback, "Scalp and chips"... what the hell are you on about?
